A parallel card is an alternate version of a One Piece card that keeps the same card number and rarity code but has different artwork and a premium finish. Parallels are marked with a small star (★) above the rarity code, and they are inserted into packs far less often than the standard version.

How to Spot a Parallel

Find the rarity code in the bottom-right corner of the card, next to the card number. If there's a small star directly above the code, the card is a parallel. Without the star, it's the standard version.

Bandai doesn't explain the star on its own pages; collectors read it as the parallel marker, and it's consistent across modern sets.

Which Cards Get Parallels?

Parallels appear across several rarities, most often on Leaders, Rares, Super Rares and Secret Rares. A set might include parallels of its Leaders and a selection of SRs, alongside alternate versions of its Secret Rares. The premium tiers that collectors chase, such as Manga Rares, are themselves a kind of parallel.

Price follows demand, not just the star Two parallels from the same set can differ hugely in value. A parallel Leader for a popular competitive deck often trades well above parallels of cards nobody plays. The star tells you the card is scarcer; it doesn't tell you what it's worth.

Are Parallels Playable?

Yes. A parallel has the same card number, name and game text as the standard version, so it plays exactly the same. The difference is purely the artwork and finish.

Where to Find Parallels

Parallels are inserted randomly into booster packs. You can only guarantee one by buying the single.
